Some Laundry Cheer

One day at our friendly Hobby Lobby, I saw these cute whimsical letters. They were half off and I thought....what could I make with these cuties? I picked up the letters WASH and thought they would go in my laundry room. I bought some very cute scrapbook paper (that I wish was in fabric) and went over to my sisters house since paper is her thing. She had a very sharp knifey thing that she used to cut out the paper for me. I went to work on the Modge Podge and after it dried....put the rick rack on them and the little buttons with string for extra cuteness. Here is their before......

And here is their after!!!

I think they are soooo cute! I am sure these sweet letters will bring so much joy to me while doing laundry..... Who the heck am I fooling? HA!
I showed them to my darling friend Lori today while she was over for afternoon coffee. I do believe there may just be another set of letters in my future. But those might be in her laundry room! And, another thought was to make some for the dental office where I work....I could use the words Floss and Brush and Smile and Teeth! The possibilities are endless really.

Chim Chimney Chim Chimney.....

Husband and I got treated to something very rare last night....an evening with no kiddos! One daughter was at a slumber party and the other daughter stayed with Nana and Papa. We took advantage of no kids and went to Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, Target, Borders and Starbucks. Phew! We are in the beginnings of a HUGE home project and we were gathering information. More on that to come....

While in Lowes, we looked (for the 100th time) at those little Mexican chimney things for your patio. Kind of like an outdoor fire pit....

I don't know if it was from all the campfire smoke we inhaled this past week or what....but lookie what came home with us!

Ta Da!! Our own little Mexican fire chimney! The entire evening I kept humming the words to this song....Can't seem to get it out of my head. And now that you listened to it...you won't be able to either! HA!

At one point in our evening while sitting on the patio, I looked behind me and saw the two furry babies watching us from the door. I had to laugh. Little darlings.

Camping Trip

We made it home alive from the camping trip. Came home a day early due to impending storms that are heading our way. Nothing like riding out a storm in a tin can. :) Plus, we did have one day with lots and lots of rain. Rain and camping just do not mix well in my opinion. We did have fun, however, and here is some proof!

Shelby and her fish! This girl would seriously love to grow up and be a professional bass fisherman/fisherwoman. I kid you not.

Taylor riding in the boat....with her camping braids. Wish my hair would do that! Too cute!

Secret code we found in the woods. Very cool.....

Isn't it amazing how the water looks just as green as the trees?

A little turtle we saw loafing on a fallen tree in the water. He took one look at us and went right back in the water!

Mama and daughter being silly in the camper while it was raining. She had no idea I was behind her with my tongue out. HA!

Another one that was to small to keep.....

Hubby and kids out on his boat waiting for the fish to bite.....Sophie the doggie was out there with them too. She loved being on the boat!!

Ah....the book my friends Lori and Dorenda told me I just had to read...... I decided to take it with me on our trip. OH. MY. LAND. This was an excellent book about friendships and the impact it can have on two people. All I can say is....I hope the other people camping did not hear me bawling when I finished the book. They might of mistaken my cries for a howling wild animal or something and got scared!! Get this book if you are in need of a good cry and a good read. This book is both. I also had my Ipod and coffee going a lot while we were on this trip. Lovely....just lovely.

The little camp lights we had hanging on our camper. Too stinkin cute.

Our home away from home for the past four days. See our little Sophie sitting by the screen door looking out? She did this a lot. Just watching the world go by...and the squirrels. Which she detests! :)

I just love this little picture of the camper through the woods. Some of Gods handiwork we saw on our trip. :)
That's it....our little camping trip is finished. We had a nice time together even though it rained and stress got the best of us one day. But, that is what life is about isn't it? Ups and downs and making up in the end. Family.....gotta love them. :)

What's On Yours?

This is my screen saver. Those who read this silly blog of mine know that I am a HUGE Mary Engebreit addict, I mean fan. Ahem.
You can go here and get one for yourself....if you are an addict...I mean fan too. You have to scroll down to pick which one you would like. She has all kinds and they are free! I just love this little gal floating in the pool with her kitty close by with shades on. Too cute!!
Hope you are having one of these days....floating by and enjoying yourself. If you have a second, tell me what is on your wallpaper. I would love to know!! :)

Getting Ready

Guess where we are heading off too? Yup....the wilderness. Except we will have a/c and a potty and a microwave and a clean dry place to sleep at night. Oh....and I am bringing my sewing machine. Now that is my kind of camping! :)

Baby Blankets

Here is one of the baby blankets I made this weekend. One of my co-workers became a grandma for the first time. So, I thought a little homemade gift was in order for the special baby. Her name is Cameron and you can see the little tags I made on the back of her blanket. Hers is all flannel....front and back. Then, hand tied to keep together. It is very very soft. Perfect for a baby's new skin!

This blanket is for my co-worker who also had a baby girl. The baby's name is Brin. How cute is that? This little blankie has the softest chenille and velour and flannel on it. I bought the panel at Hobby Lobby if anyone is interested in making one. Then I put pink flannel on the back and hand tied the corners of the blocks with soft pink yarn. My husband and family that was here tonight for the 4th all said this one was their favorite so far. I kind of like it a lot as well. But hopefully....the mamas and the babies will like them too!

Happy Independence Day!!!

Here is a picture show of our little families celebration of our countries freedom......are you ready? Let's begin......

Sparkle Fun!!

Playing with fire in the back yard.......fun!!

More backyard pretties......

Our 4th of July spread.......always to much food......ALWAYS!!

The master grill man himself (sporting his apron he got for Fathers Day) with all the meat he patiently cooked for us.....took 5 hours of his day to make it.....but everyone agreed that it was sooooo worth it!!

Here is the inside of his smoker.....this thing holds a lot of meat!! And, you should smell the lovely scent of wood cooking in it.....yummmmmm!

The real fireworks from last night....since we had our towns on the3rd. Good thing we did....it rained the entire day here. UGH!!

Pretty daisy's colored for the 4th..

A granddaughter and her grandpa patiently waiting for the sun to go down so the fireworks would begin!!

Youngest daughter camped out in her chair with glow stick around her neck and blankie on her lap and bug spray on the parts that were sticking out! :)

Oldest daughter with her red glow stick waiting to take pictures with her phone to show her cousin who was with his daddy and not us this year. We missed him an awful lot. :(

Cute little Mary Engelbreit flag in my flower garden. I love what it says.

Really cool farm in our little town with a very large flag outside. I just love the way this looks for some reason....

And lastly...my sissy and I took a spin around the park and this really cool car was in front of us. We really wanted to be cruising in it....but we just took her picture instead. :)
Hope you enjoyed a look into our 4th of July celebrations!! God Bless America!!!!
