The snow was falling down so beautifully on Friday. I awoke to the announcement of no school due to "inclement weather." Oh dear! The radio was also advising people to not get out on the roads unless they absolutely had to. I had plans to go to Hobby Lobby for some shopping to make some pretty things. So, what is a girl to do? Put on her boots and gloves and head out! I joked with someone that nothing stops a woman and her 40% off Hobby Lobby coupon. Came home and turned on my little machine and began to stitch.
The iPod was tuned to one of my most favorite Pandora stations.....
I love Valentines Day. It is fun to make things for people I care about. This little tea towel is going to a dear friend back home who's favorite color is purple. I miss her so much. So, I decided that since she was on my heart, I would send some lovin to her mailbox from me.
Outside my back door...the snow was still falling.....
Fluffy kitty was taking a cat nap.......
Our grand total as of this morning. My very scientific way of measuring snow. A quilting ruler.
My finished little project.

Oh My
Oh my goodness do I love this couch. I can just see myself sitting on this beauty sipping a hot steamy creamy cup of coffee with my fluffy kitty. I would have you over to sit on it with me. Yup, I would! Is it weird to love a couch? Probably. To get this gorgeous, smoochy, fluffy, comfy couch, I would have to find a BIG bag of $100 bills lying on the street. The chance of that happening is slim to none. Oh well. I can drool admire it from afar. It is fun to dream though, isn't it. And in my little couch dream, there would be no cat hair on it. Now I really am dreaming!

So Many Fishy
Simon the kitty got some good stuff for Christmas. My sister gave him these little sparkly catnip goldfish. Let's just say he REALLY loves them. He carries them around the house in his mouth. I have found them all over the house...even on my bed! He plopped down in the sewing room with all of them the other day. So of course I had to take his picture to show you.

Ee-I-Ee-I-Oh
There is a darling new baby boy next door. So I just had to make him a soft quilt. It is all flannel except for the gingham border. I think it will be a warm snuggly blanket for sweet baby this winter.

Winter Wreath
After the Christmas decorations came down, I decided I did not want to hang the same boring decorations on my front door that I have put up for the past...oh.....five years. I have been looking on Pinterest (a lot) and really love the yarn wreaths. So, off to my little Hobby Lobby to gather my supplies I went.
This is what I came up with. I am quite pleased with the results. It looks so nice next to all the snow that fell on us yesterday. I think it will do just fine on my door until Valentines Day when it is time to change things around once again.

Plan B
Happy New Year! So what did you do last night? It was a different night for me. Both girls spent the night with friends last night. So that left hubby and myself home alone. Our first New Years Eve alone in sixteen years. He actually said the house was too quiet. Ha! I popped popcorn and watched Mr. Dick Clark count down the New Year. Also watched some "Lady" perform that had on the most craziest costume I have ever seen. For some reason, that is not entertainment in my book. I didn't get it. I suppose I am old. Oh well. When the lights were out and I was ready to hop into my comfy bed, I kept hearing "Boom! Bang!" I looked outside and saw the neighbors letting off fireworks. Big fireworks! It was quite a display! They were celebrating for sure.
That got me thinking. I need to celebrate this fresh start of a new year as well. I have had a rough 2011. Not as rough as some, but rough for me. To say I am ready to kick 2011 to the curb would be accurate. I went to bed last night full of hope. There are a few things in my life I am less than pleased with. Time to make some changes! Time for Plan B!
This morning I am drinking the most wonderful cup of coffee in my "Good Morning" mug and filled with excitement for the changes that I hope will be coming in my life this new year. It is time to be brave and make those changes. Plan B can be scary and unknown....but I am full of hope that it will be good none the less. I pray that your New Years is full and overflowing with God's goodness as well.
