Pastel Pretties

I have some pretty things to share with you that have been coming out of the kitchen at the little cafe where I spend my days.   For instance this little rainbow platter (which are not frosted yet in this photo) are chocolate chip, pistachio, strawberry and Bailey's Irish Cream flavored baby cupcakes.  Aren't the colors so pretty?  Love the pastels.

 These are classic cup cakes which are chocolate with peanut butter filling inside them and topped with chocolate buttercream frosting and sprinkled with chopped peanuts.  Oh my......

 This platter is chocolate cupcakes with Bailey's Irish Cream frosting and a dollop of chocolate buttercream in the center.  Drizzled with chocolate syrup...just because.

And I made these little pretties this morning.  Tuxedo brownies with frosting that I thought looked like the signature Tiffany blue.  :)

And this is a calorie free blog today.  Hee hee.

Street Corner Suprise

On my way to work this morning I saw this pink piano sitting on the corner downtown.  It took all my self control not to pull over and play chopsticks.  I mean really, how fun is this?  I never ever know what I might see on my little commute down to the little cafe where I spend my days.

Baby Olive's Quilt

We have a new baby in our neighborhood.  And that means a quilt for the wee one was born as well.

 My sister is a scrapbooker and she has the fabric I used but in paper.  I love the fact that it is a girly fabric but not all pink.

 While attaching the binding, my faithful and loyal helper was beside me.  He sat like this watching me for the longest time.

  I got the pattern from here.  Each time I make a quilt, I tell myself "This is my favorite."  But this one really is.  I hope little Olive loves it as much as I do.

Amazing Love

On my way to work each day I pass the most beautiful historic places.  The buildings are amazing.  This morning while waiting for the red light to change,  I noticed the most beautiful image of Christ hanging on the cross.  And I quickly jumped out of my car and snapped a picture because I wanted to share it with you on this Good Friday.

Snip Snip Cut Cut

It has been a long time since I have had time to cut into fabric.  I have a baby quilt I want to get done quickly because someone (wonder who that could be) waited until the last minute to start it and the baby is due to make her debut in less than two weeks.  (insert panic!)  I finished cutting out all the little pieces and looked down at my pile of scraps.  Even these are cute to me.  It has been far to long since I have played with fabric.  And, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Smiles Laughs and Giggles

I took a couple pictures today while I was playing working at the cafe getting it ready for the big opening day on Monday.  Goodness have we ever gotten a lot done.  Still much to do, but we are women.  Hear us roar.  :)  This is my wonderful friend and boss Nancy.  I have been blessed beyond measure to have her in my life.

And this dear sweet friend was working at the cafe today as well.   Even dishes are more fun with friends, aren't they?

p.s.  Thank you for each sweet note that was sent to me about my new endeavor.  I wish each one of you could come in to the little cafe and have a cup of creamy coffee and a yummy little treat with me.  I truly do!
